What are ZHU ZHU PETS?

Zhu Zhu Pets are robotic hamsters, basically motorized, which use artificial intelligence and sensors to interact with each other, with the children who are playing with them and with their environment. Although the smart hamster pets cannot ever really replace a live pet real hamster, it is the perfect toy and great idea for the younger kids who may not be ready for the responsibility of a living pet. They are small, cute and furry, and they make endearing little noises. Zhu Zhu Pets are suitable for ages 3 and up.

The Characters

Hamsters’ family is growing up. Beside old chaps Patches, Chunk, Pipsqueak, NumNums and Mr. Squiggles, from February you can find also Jilly, Scoodles, Winkie and Nugget.

How they work?

Zhu Zhu Pets include two play modes: nurturing mode where the hamsters coo and purr and adventure mode where the hamsters explore their habitat with intelligent audio and mechanical responses to various habitat stimuli. Zhu Zhu Pet hamsters are powered by 2 AAA batteries.

…And not just that…

Beside the hamsters themselves, there is a range of different accessories and toys which children can assemble in a variety of arrangements for their electronic pets. Hamsters react on external stimuli and their hamster environments (tube, tracks and toys) can be taken apart and reassembled again, in other combination. It’s easy to see why kids in the target group (ages 4 to 10) are crazy for these toys.

Available accessories are: Hamster funhouse, Hamster wheel and tunnel, Hamster-mobile and garage, Spiral slide and ramp, Adventure ball, Surfboard and sleep dome, Skateboard and U-turn, Pet bed and blanket, Pet carrier and blanket.

Conclusion

From parents’ point of view, there are few pros as well. They don’t need food and water (only batteries), they don’t poop (so there’s no cage cleaning required, heck, there’s no cage at all) and they don’t shuffle off to hamster heaven, leaving the Mom & Dad to explain that Hammy has gone to a better place. We believe that your worry about shopping the gifts for kids is no longer there.
